How thick should the sub-base be for pathways and driveways?
Pedestrian garden pathways typically require 100mm of compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base, while driveways and vehicular paving require a minimum of 150mm–200mm over a geotextile membrane.
How do you prevent weeds from growing through paving?
We install heavy-duty geotextile membranes beneath the sub-base and use high-strength polymeric jointing sands or resin mortars that harden completely, denying weeds a foothold.
